Job Summary/Basic Function

Clarion University seeks applications for a full-time Media Technology Specialist position in the Center for Computing Services. Responsibilities include providing a full range of technical support for the university’s audio visual (A/V) infrastructure across a wide range of facilities (classrooms, labs, studios, specialized venues, etc.) at all university locations including the Clarion and Venango campuses. Duties include design, installation, maintenance, support, and documentation of media-enhanced classrooms with A/V control and routing systems, projectors, monitors, speakers, mixers, cameras, microphones, cabling, streaming devices, computers/tablets, and related software; IT and operational support for TV and radio facilities and services; collaboration with related academic departments and committees.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of experience as an Instructional Technology Technician, or an associate degree in a technology related field and one year of experience providing information and/or instructional technology support, or 3 years of experience providing IT support, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Qualified applicants will have a strong working knowledge of advanced media technologies, including A/V design for classrooms and large venues, programming control and switching systems, audio broadcast and video production equipment, A/V hardware and software, PC’s/Macs, multi-media projectors, A/V streaming and broadcast technologies, advanced troubleshooting techniques, strong project and team skills, and effective communication skills including the ability to provide documentation, training, and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred applicants will have prior operational experience with Extron (or similar) control systems, media-enhanced rooms, radio and video broadcast and studio equipment and advanced technical knowledge of audio and video distribution systems.
